FlagQuiz - my first PhoneGap powered app

FlagQuiz

I'm happy to announce my new game FlagQuiz coming soon on Android Market and App Store!

Introduction

FlaqQuiz is a quiz game that helps you learn all flags of the world. The rules are simple - from the grid of 15 flags you must select the flag that matches the country specified at the bottom. For each correct guess you earn 100 points and the quicker you match all flags the more points you get.

Technology

In FlagQuiz development I used two fantastic frameworks: PhoneGap and JQuery Mobile.

PhoneGap handles the guts of the application. It allowed me to transform my html and javascript application into functional Android/iOS app with no additional effort.

jQuery Mobile made my life a lot easier with screen transitions, fixed bars and event handling (onTap!)

It took me 5 evenings to finish it off what probably adds up to about 10 working hours.

Cost? Not including time spent - free. (I might purchase the flag icon set I used if I decided to sell my app. For now, I'm planning on realising it for FREE).

Next move

First, I need to test it. It looks fine on my HTC Desire and Samsung GalaxyTab I have an access too. Also, I know my friends are using various Android devices and iPhones so first I'll ask them to make sure the application is looking fine across all platforms.

Then, I'll submit it for review in Android Market and Apple App Store, and when my app is available to everyone I will let you know!

It would be fun once this

It would be fun once this flag quiz application will be launched. I can teach my kids through it. It's extremely informative! Excited to have it.
